
Conservatives will provide 40 000 extra police officers, giving communities the means to police their streets properly and tackle the rising tide of crime under Labour. To ensure this extra manpower is put to the uses local people want, we will make the police forces directly accountable to the communities they serve.
Conservatives will also a ten-fold increase in the number of drug rehab places for minors, and bring in longer and more constructive sentences for persistent young offenders. It is unacceptable that Labour keep sending them back onto our streets.
The Conservatives unlike Labour will always put the law abiding majority before the criminal minority.
